On 11 April 2017 at the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk a very special and solemn meeting was held on the occasion of the Jubilee of the 70th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Dr. Wiesław Ostachowicz, a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The meeting was a seminar which brought closer to his vast scientific, educational and organizational achievements.
Prof. dr hab. inż. Wojciech Pietraszkiewicz opened the 70th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Wiesław Ostachowicz, welcomed the guests and presided over this unique meeting.

During the seminar, the Director of IMP PAS, Prof. Dr. Jan Kiciński, a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, presented a laudation in honor of the Jubilee and presented a gift.
Then three of his pupils gave papers on scientific research conducted under his direction in the last decade. Prof. Wiesław Ostachowicz's scientific team presented a gift and a poem written specifically for this occasion entitled "Fraszka na Boss", by one of his pupils.
