Prof. Jan Kiciński long-time Director of IMP PAN honorary doctoris causa AGH.
The ceremony of awarding honorary doctorate to AGH Professor Jan Kiciński was held on 19 May 2023 at 12 in the AGH Hall.
The award procedure began on 3 June 2022. The College of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics gave a positive opinion on the request of Dean WIMIR to address the Rector and Senate of AGH on 26 October 2022. Professor Tadeusz Uhl was appointed as the promoter of the application. The reviewers were Prof. Zbigniew Dąbrowski from Warsaw University of Technology and Prof. Wojciech Cholewa from Silesian University of Technology. Resolution adopted on 1 March 2023. The Senate of AGH awarded the title of honorary doctorate to Jan Kiciński for his many years of cooperation with the AGH University of Mining, in particular for the joint initiative with the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the field of diagnostics of Polish energy blocks and research on the development of renewable energy sources.
The ceremony was opened by the Rector of AGH, who proudly emphasized that Prof. Jan Kiciński obtained a degree of habilitation doctor at the AGH Academy in 1986.
After the ceremony of awarding a commemorative diploma and insignia of honorary doctoris causa AGH, Prof. Jan Kiciński gave the lecture entitled In search of the Holy Grail of Transformation. Will the technologies of the future lead us to an era of sun and hydrogen?
Among the invited guests who spoke during the ceremony were: the promoter Professor Tadeusz Uhl, director of the Institute of Flow Machines PAS Dr. Prof. IMP PAN Marcin Lackowski, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Ireneusz Profit, vice president of PKN Olren Józef Węgrecki.
