On 13 December 2023 in Warsaw there was a presentation of scientific awards of the Faculty of IV Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. One of the winners of this year's award is the employee of the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk, Dr. Rohan Soman, who is an assistant at the Department of Intelligent Structures Mechanics. The award was awarded for a series of 20 publications under the collective title "Developing reliable methods and systems for monitoring the technical condition for isotropic and anisotropic structures". The awards ceremony was attended by the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Marek Konarzewski, as well as by Prof. Natalia Sobczak and Dr. Mirosław Ostrowska.
Faculty IV of Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences are annual individual awards for outstanding published creative scientific work (or work cycle) in the field of technical sciences. They are awarded to Polish researchers or foreigners employed in the last four years in Poland, who in the year of publication of the work or the last of the series of submitted works did not hold a scientific title and did not exceed 40 years of age.
