On 25 and 26 May 2025, representatives of the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences participated in the 3rd Congress “Science for Society”, held at the Warsaw University of Technology. Two implementations were presented:
- First Polish 300 kW ORC gym to convert process waste heat to electricity (cooperation of IMP PAN with Marani)
- Kaplan's water turbine with a high speed difference for ultra-low fall heights (the cooperation of IMP PAN with TG-Dnalop and Thordon Bearings)
Both presented technologies enjoyed great interest of Congress participants and received a distinction from the organizers.
The event took place under the honorary patronage of several ministries (including the Ministry of Science and Higher Education), the National Centre for Research and Development, the National Science Centre and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland. The main purpose of Congress was to promote scientific achievements that affect the standard of living and the development of society.
