Abstract
An analysis has been given regarding the operation of three Polish pumped-storage water power plants at Żydowo, Porąbka-Żar and Żarnowiec from the point of view of taking advantage of their working periods at generating, pumping and compensation work, the number of switchings of the turbine sets, changes in the Power Plant loads per week, degree of using the capacity of the upper storage reservoir, power plant time model during a 24-hour day as well as availability.
In the second part of this paper an analysis has been given of the intervening and regulating operation of these power plants according to the needs of the Polish electric power system.
