On 3-5 June 2023 the “Science for Society” Congress was held at the Warsaw University of Technology. The Congress was held for the first time and was covered by the honorary patronage of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education and Science. The main objective of the congress was to present achievements of Polish scientific units and to show how they influence the development of Polish society. During the congress Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek awarded outstanding scientists with medals Sapientia et Veritas and presented commemorative diplomas and special statues for meriting the development of modern society. The gold medal Sapientia et Veritas was awarded by Prof. Dr. Wiesław Ostachowicz, and the award for obtaining the A+ category as a result of the scientific evaluation for the years 2017-2021 for the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences was received by the director Marcin Lackowski, Prof. IMP PAS.
