On October 29, 2025, at the Research Centre "Conversion of Energy and Renewable Sources – KEZO" in Jabłonno, a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the centre's activity took place. The event brought together representatives of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the scientific community, public administration and industrial partners cooperating with the Centre for the development of modern energy technologies.
The ceremony was opened by the Director of IMP PAS, Prof. Marcin Lackowski, who welcomed guests and summarized the Centre's most important achievements in research on energy conversion and use of renewable sources. The President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Prof. Marek Konarzewski, then took the floor, stressing the role of KEZO in developing innovative solutions supporting energy transformation.
Prof. Jan Kiciński in his speech with a little nostalgia presented the history of the Center's establishment and the most important directions of its development in the last decade.
An important point of the event was the presentation of the Memorial Medal “Pro Masovia” by the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Adam Struzik. This designation is an expression of appreciation for the institutions and people who are particularly well-deserved for the social, economic and scientific development of the region. The receipt of the medal by the KEZO Centre underlines his significant contribution to building the modern scientific potential of Mazovia.
The celebration was honored with their presence, among others. Member of the Polish Parliament Ireneusz Profostęta, Vice President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Natalia Sobczak, Dean of Faculty IV of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Czesław Rosik-Dulewska, Chairman of the Board of Curators of Faculty IV of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Adam Lieber, Director of IPPT PAS Prof. Tadeusz Burczyński, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Energy and Aviation at Warsaw University of Technology Prof. Artur Rusowicz and Director of the Institute of Heat Technology at Warsaw University of Technology Prof. Wojciech Bujalski. The event was also attended by Mirosław Bieliński, former President of ENERGA SA, Marek Zimakowski, former mayor of the commune of Przywidz, and now Chief Inspector of Maritime Fisheries, as well as representatives of the energy sector and industry, including ENERGA SA, PKN ORLEN, PGE SA and PZU LAB.
The ceremony was also attended by the Provincial of the Municipality of Jabłońska Jarosław Chodorski, stressing the role of cooperation between the self-government and scientific institutions present in the municipality. During the event, a letter of congratulations was also read from the President of the City of Legionowo, Bogdan Kełbasiński, expressing appreciation for the activity of KEZO and its impact on the development of sustainable energy in Poland.
During the ceremony, awards and distinctions were also presented to people who were particularly well-deserved for building the potential of the KEZO.
The ceremony ended with a visit to laboratories, where research infrastructure used in projects related to the production, storage and conversion of renewable energy was presented.
