On 30 May in Wrocław, the 1st National Conference of Innovative Scientists was held, organized by the Cluster of Research and Development and Innovation. Dr. Mariusz Jasinski, professor of IMPPAN, won the award in the category "Innovative scientist". Conferences were opened by the Coordinator of the B+R&I Cluster by Dr. Jacek Doczko and Deputy Coordinator Dr. Piotr Kardas.

The conference was attended by almost 60 people, closely connected with the world of science and business. There were representatives of universities, including the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, the Institute of Electrical Engineering OTiME in Warsaw, the Lublin University of Technology, the Kozminski University in Warsaw, the Western Pomeranian Technical University, the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw, the Institute of Non-ferrous Metals in Poznań, the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the University of Silesia in Katowice and the PCC MCAA Sp. z o.o. from Brzeg Dolny. 21 participants presented papers with the results of their research and ideas for further development. Several people presented them as posters. The conference consisted of four panels, during which issues in the fields of chemistry, medicine, energy economy and marketing were discussed.

The conference was a success. Active participation of participants proves that Polish science and economy together want to strive for effective development, by introducing innovations in their areas of activity.

During the 1st National Conference Innovative Scientists took place the competition previously announced by the organizers. Conference participants could win in three categories. The first category is the “Innovative Scientists Conference Participants Award”, the second category is Innovative Research and the third category is Innovative Scientist. In the first category, the winners of the paper or postmaster were decided by the participants, who received anonymous ballot cards during the conference. Any contestant could have returned three votes.

The counting of the votes of the participants of the conference indicated the winner of the competition - Ms. Paulina Szczepaniak - who received awards in the form of a Lenovo tablet, funded by the Lower Silesian Technology and Innovation Accelerator and participation in the training of Transfer of Technology and Innovation funded by MARIF Management of Intellectual Property.

In the other two categories, the Jury was voted by organizers, patrons and councils. In both categories, authors of the winning paper and poster won sets of innovative cosmetics from Nanolaboratory Nantes and participation in the Technology and Innovation Transfer training.

The winners were:

- in the category "Innovative Research" - Ms Marta Czarncka, Mr Jarosław Dąbrowski, Mrs Kamila Kołodziejczyk, Mr Jan Lorkowski;
- in the category "Innovative Scientist" - Mrs Katarzyna Janczak, Mr Mariusz Jasinski, Mrs Anna Jenczak, Mrs Karolina Carbnik, Mrs Wiesława Łada and Mrs Danuta Wawszczak, Mrs Isabella Małecki.
