Professor Wiesław Ostachowicz received the dignity of an Honorary Member of the Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (PTMTS). Honorary Member's dignity was given for a significant contribution to the development of Polish Mechanics and merit to the Society.

To confirm the award of the title of Honorary Member on the hands of Professor Wiesław Ostachowicz, during the meeting of RN IMP PAN on 29 October 2015, Secretary-General of PTMTS Professor Witold Elsner gave Diploma and Member's Card (No. 193).

In its nearly 60-year activity, 58 people received the dignity of the Honorary Member of PTMTS (http://www.ptmts.org.pl/honor.htm).

The Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics is a nationwide association that brings together outstanding academics, active in the field of widely understood mechanics. The Society has been operating continuously since 1958, providing an integrative and information base for its members employed in universities, research institutes and R & D centres in Poland.
