The Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk is the initiator of the creation of the Baltic Wind Energy Centre, which is intended to become a platform of cooperation between scientific institutions, entrepreneurs, public administration and the organisation of business support for wind energy development in the Baltic Sea region
Acronym Project BALTECO, in order to prepare the foundation for future cooperation by defining the main objectives and objectives of this international initiative, has received funding under the initial fund "Seed Money" for the programme INTERREG South Baltic. The project is part of the strategy European Union for the Baltic Sea Region under priority area "Energy".
Main coordinator of the seed project BALTECO is the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences, also participates in the project Polish Wind Energy Association (PSEW) and institutions in Denmark (Danish Technical University) and Germany (Baltic Wind Energy Association). In the next phase, the partnership will be extended to other institutions (including the private sector) and other Baltic Sea countries.
