HYBRYDA+
‘HYBRID emission reduction system
acid constituents and volatile ash from exhaust gas’
POIR.04.01.04-00-0096/17
The project is implemented by the Consortium consisting of RAFAKO S.A. – as Leader and TAURON Wycień S.A. and the Robert Szewalski Institute of Flow Machines Polish Academy of Sciences – as Members of the Consortium.
The aim of the project is to develop a new class of hybrid multi-function filter, HYBRYDA+, which is to develop a classic hybrid filter by using an innovative solution, which is an electrostatic agglomeration designed for charging and agglomeration of dust particles and a dry sorbent injection system. These elements will be integrated into one compact device, which distinguishes this design from other market solutions. The project product will ensure compliance with the emission limits for dust and SO2 when rationalising investment and operating costs. The filter will be implemented as a basic environmental installation in the medium combustion plant market, which will be subject to stricter emission standards from 2025 (MCP Directive). Thanks to the additional functionality of the solution, i.e. limiting compounds emissions in the same process: HCl, HF and heavy metals (Hg) the project product meets environmental social expectations and can be used in other industries. The use of an electrostatic agglomerator changes the fractional decomposition of volatile ash particles to be more beneficial for dust removal and reduction of heavy metals (Hg). Thanks to particle electrification, a more porous filter plate structure will be obtained in the agglomeration, which will allow to increase the effectiveness of the absorption of acidic compounds. The aim of industrial research is to design a HYBRYDA+ filter. The research work will be carried out on the existing demonstration installation in the Łaziska Power Plant and the electrostatic agglomeration research post. The development work will modernise the demonstration installation and will test and optimize the HYBRYDA+ filter under industrial conditions. The project will be completed with a feasibility study and guidelines for filter selection and design. This will allow the implementation of the finished product immediately after completion of the project.
