On September 28, 2017, an agreement was signed at Olivia Business Centre declaring the creation of the Pomeranian Digital Innovation Hub (PPIC in short). Its initiators are the Robert Szewalski Institute of Flow Machines Polish Academy of Sciences and the Pomeranian ICT Cluster INTERIZON. The document was signed by representatives of 10 companies and organizations operating in Pomerania at Olivia Sky Club.
The Pomeranian Digital Innovation Hub is to be part of the Polish Industry Platform 4.0. Its task is to provide comprehensive services to companies in order to improve their business and production processes, as well as products and services through digital technologies.
The parties to the agreement expressed their initial willingness to apply for co-financing of PFIC projects and declared the creation of a special working group operating for the final creation of the Pomeranian Digital Innovation Hub.

The event took place during this year's ICT DAY, organized at Olivia Business Centre by the Pomeranian ICT Interizon Cluster and the Institute of Flow Machines PAS. The conference discussed, among others, what would happen in Pomerania as part of the Polish Industry Platform 4.0 initiative. Such burning issues as IoT for Industry, automation, robotic processes and data analysis or blockchain were addressed. The participants of the meeting also discussed security in IT companies, human resources market issues and internationalization in the IT sector.
Polish Industry Platform 4.0 is expected to start operations in 2018. The Foundation is intended to support the transformation of Polish industry; its digitisation and robotization. The platform is one of the key projects of the Strategy for Responsible Development, whose pillar is reindustrialisation. Appointment
and the activities of the Polish Industry Platform 4.0 are to contribute to the implementation of the SOR and to help market participants face new challenges associated with the fourth industrial revolution. The platform, as an institution operating at the interface between the public and private sector, is to bring together, among others, suppliers and recipients of technology and educational and scientific centres. Its task will be to intensively disseminate knowledge, skills and key technical and management standards, which are the foundation of successful transformation to Industry 4.0 – especially among small and medium-sized enterprises through a network of Competency Centres, as well as consulting on the implementation of related techniques
