Prof. dr hab. inż. Jan Kiciński, director of the IMP PAN became Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. The title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Olsztyn was given on 2 June during the university festival. The ceremony was opened by Rector of UWM Prof. Dr. Ryszard Górecki.

The Senate of the University awarded honorary doctorate to the Director of IMP PAS Professor Jan Kiciński for his significant contribution to the development of Polish science in the field of technical sciences, in particular in disciplines, the construction and operation of machinery and energy, and for scientific and research cooperation with the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, for the promotion of the University and for supporting the development of the Faculty of Technical Sciences. The PhD is promoted by Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Warsaw Dr Adam Lipiński, Prof. UWM.
