On 14 December 2017, a conference was held at the Research Centre of the Polish Ministry of Development, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Digitization. The conference was organized by the Institute of Flow Machines PAS and the Human World Association.
The conference was dedicated mainly to city owners interested in implementing the Polish Intelligent City Standards in their local governments. The standards of the Polish Intelligent City are a unique worldwide programme of system-wide deployment of Smart City on the basis of a digital, public interactive social communication platform. The Polish Intelligent City Programme is a practical implementation of Smart City vision and its impact on improving the quality of life of residents and stimulating their economic and social activity. The application of the Polish Intelligent City Standards enables integration of current and future solutions, their continuous development and monitoring using the scientific potential of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the academic community.
The conference was attended by: Prof. Jan Kiciński (director of IMP PAN), Prof. Elżbieta Frąckowiak (vice of the Polish Academy of Sciences), Dr. Dorota Chwieduk (member of the International Steering Committee of the Joint Programme of the KE Smart Cities Joint Programme), Paweł Silbert (President of Jaworzna City), Dr. Krzysztof Wozniak (chairman of the Human World Association, Smart City specialist) and many other speakers for whom the idea of smart cities is close. The interest in the conference demonstrates to a large extent the need to implement modern digital solutions improving the standard of living of residents. The presented anti-smog solutions of the Institute of Flow Machines, the possibility of driving electric cars (Tesla S, BMW i3, Nissan Leaf) organized by PPEM, and the exhibition of interactive advertisements were also of great interest.
