Abstract

A new method of examining the resistance of materials to cavitation erosion is described. Cavitation occurs in a jet leaving a nozzle under high pressure. Erosion is observed in a specimen placed within the jet. Results of experimental investigations provided the relation between main parameters affecting the erosion. In conclusion the required experimental conditions are specifled and some discrepancies between earlier results are explained
